Runloft vs Depot
Depot sells a suite of build products, including GitHub Actions runners, on monthly plans. Runloft does one thing, runners, with no plan and half Depot's per-minute overage price on Linux.
| Feature | Depot | Runloft |
|---|---|---|
| Linux, 2 vCPU, per minute | $0.006 beyond plan minutes | $0.003 |
| Monthly commitment | Plans from $20 per month | None, prepaid credits |
| Personal GitHub accounts | No, organizations only | Yes |
| Billing | Plan minutes, then per minute | Per second |
| Free usage | Included in the plan | 3,000 Linux minutes per month |

When Depot is the better fit
- You also want their remote container builds and caching products from the same vendor.
- A fixed monthly plan suits your budgeting better than pay-as-you-go.
When Runloft is
- You want to pay only for what runs, with no monthly plan.
- You use a personal GitHub account.
- Your workload is GitHub Actions jobs and agents, and you do not need the rest of a build suite.
Trying it takes one line
Install the GitHub App on one repository and change one job. If it is not for you, change the line back; there is nothing else to undo.
